The player shows “Can’t play this stream”#

  • Mixed content: your site is https:// and the stream is http://. Use the HTTPS address of your stream, or turn on the Pro stream proxy. See How to Keep Your Radio Stream Playing Reliably.
  • Wrong address: open the station and click Check. Make sure you used the direct stream address, not your host’s web player page.
  • Format: MP3, AAC and Ogg/Opus play in most browsers; HLS (.m3u8) and DASH (.mpd) are supported too. Some formats depend on the listener’s browser.
  • The stream is down: add a backup stream and set an off-air fallback in the player.

Nothing happens when I press play#

  • Check whether a browser extension or your cache or optimization plugin delays or combines StreamSera’s scripts. Exclude StreamSera’s scripts from JavaScript delay and combining.
  • Autoplay is blocked by browsers until the visitor interacts with the page. This is normal.

The song title is missing or wrong#

  • Open the station, go to Now playing and click Test now.
  • Try From the stream if your host has no status page.
  • If several streams share one Icecast server, set the Mount under Advanced.
  • Clear the cache under Settings → Access & data → Caches.

Song titles update late#

Titles update on the refresh interval (15 seconds by default) to protect your stream server. Lower it under Settings → Streams & now playing, or use Pro’s real-time push.

No listener count#

Listener numbers come from your stream server. Some hosts do not report them, and in-stream titles never include them. Choose your server type under the station’s Now playing to get counts where available.

The player looks wrong#

  • Your theme may style buttons or images in a way that affects the player. Try another layout, or add a small fix in Custom CSS [Pro].
  • In page builders, preview the page on the front end; some builders show a placeholder in the editor.
  • Clear your caching plugin and CDN cache after changing a player.

Pro features are not showing#

  • Make sure both StreamSera and StreamSera Pro are active.
  • Activate your license under StreamSera → Account (or the license screen). See How to Upgrade to StreamSera Pro.
  • Click Sync License on the Account page after renewing or upgrading.

The setup wizard doesn’t open#

The wizard opens once after activation. Run it again any time from StreamSera → Dashboard → Run the setup wizard.

Still stuck?#

Open a support ticket and tell us your stream address type, what you see and any message shown. Free users can also ask in the WordPress.org support forum.

Frequently asked questions#

Can I run several stations?#

Yes, as many as you like, each with its own streams, logo and page. One player can switch between them.

Which streaming servers are supported?#

Icecast, Shoutcast, HLS and MPEG-DASH, from hosts such as AzuraCast, Radio.co, Zeno.FM or your own server.

The listen page opens in its own tab, so it keeps playing. With Pro, Keep playing across pages keeps the stream going on your whole site.

Does StreamSera work with my theme and page builder?#

Yes: classic and block themes, Elementor, Divi 4 and 5, Beaver Builder, Bricks, and any builder that supports shortcodes.

Does StreamSera track listeners?#

The free plugin does not. Pro’s statistics are cookie-free and stored on your own site. See Privacy, Data and External Services.
