What the free plugin does#
- No WPSera analytics, no listener tracking and no cookies of its own.
- Player scripts and fonts are served from your own site.
- Your site contacts your stream servers to read song titles, on the refresh interval you set.
- Listeners’ browsers connect to your stream server to play the stream. Your stream host receives their network information, as with any audio stream, and may keep its own logs.
- A listener’s volume is remembered in their own browser.
StreamSera adds suggested text for your privacy policy under Settings → Privacy → Policy Guide in WordPress.
Pro: listening statistics#
- Counted on your own site, without cookies or IP addresses, using a hash that changes every day. Do Not Track is respected.
- You choose how long data is kept (30 days to 2 years); older data is deleted every night.
- No personal data is stored, so no data-subject export is needed.
- Optional consent: count listeners only after your consent banner sets a cookie.
Likes use the same approach: one like per listener per day, with no account and no personal data.
